President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos jet to Brunei for Prince Mateen's grand royal wedding

Marking his 18th international trip since taking office, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos joined a gathering of world leaders in Brunei for the 10-day royal wedding of Prince Abdul Mateen.

 

Mateen, a renowned bachelor in Asia, married commoner Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah on Jan. 11, with the lavish ceremony culminating in a grand reception at the Istana Nurul Iman palace on Jan. 14.

 


Joining the Marcoses were prominent figures like Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, King Jigme and Queen Jetsum Pema of Bhutan, and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

 

Sharing photos on social media, First Lady Araneta-Marcos expressed their warm wishes to the newlyweds and gratitude to the Royal Family of Brunei.

 

The President's trip to Brunei, announced by the Presidential Communications Office on Jan. 13, marked his continued engagement with international partners and participation in significant cultural events.

 

Prince Mateen, 32, is the 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the longest-reigning monarch in the world. His bride, Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah, comes from a prominent Bruneian family and is a successful entrepreneur with her own fashion brand and tourism business.
