Minh Phuo, also known as Emma, has refuted online speculation linking her to Filipino actor Daniel Padilla. In a lengthy Instagram post, she clarified their brief encounter and appealed for responsible online behavior.
Phuo, a non-celebrity, stated she only exchanged greetings with Padilla at her brother's bar during his visit to Vietnam. "I've received countless messages from his fans since last year," she wrote, "but I never met him before that."
She explained, "My brother informed me about his presence, and knowing he's a famous actor, I greeted him and then left with my sister. That's the extent of our interaction."
Phuo urged fans to stop spreading misinformation. "I understand your love for your idol, but please be respectful. Your threats and harassment towards me, my family, and friends are unacceptable," she stressed.
Addressing online accusations fuelled by speculation, she stated, "I'm just an ordinary Vietnamese citizen living my life. Please be mindful and respectful on social media."
Last year's split between Padilla and his long-term partner, Kathryn Bernardo, likely fueled the rumors.
