Actress Bea Alonzo and actor Dominic Roque have officially confirmed their separation in a joint statement posted on Instagram.
The statement, accompanied by a photo of the former couple together, expressed that the decision was "mutual and amicable" but not easy, especially considering the recent "speculations, questions, and insults." They addressed the unauthorized confirmation and fabrication of stories surrounding the breakup, stating, "Unfortunately, some even confirmed our breakup without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false."
This announcement follows rumors and speculations circulating online. On February 6, TV host Boy Abunda confirmed their separation, while vlogger Ogie Diaz previously mentioned a lack of communication between them. Abunda also shared that the couple was "going through a rough patch" and that Bea had returned the engagement ring.
Dominic Roque has also requested the public to refrain from negativity towards Bea, stating on his Facebook page, "Bea's a beautiful person inside [and] out. No hate/bashing/negative things please."
In their joint statement, Bea and Dominic concluded with a plea for privacy and respect: "We kindly request to give us the privacy we need as we navigate our future lives with respect, kindness, compassion, and dignity."
The couple's relationship first became publicly known in August 2021, and Dominic proposed in July 2023.
