Islay Erika Bomogao Claims Muay Thai World Title

 Islay Erika Bomogao, a Filipina Muay Thai sensation, has ascended to the top of the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA) rankings for female elite athletes in the 45 kg division.



Hailing from Benguet, Bomogao's recent victory over Australian Muay Thai state champion Sarah Kwa in Kenwick, Australia, solidified her status as the first Filipina Muay Thai world champion.



The University of Baguio, her alma mater, expressed its pride and congratulated Bomogao on her remarkable achievement. "University of Baguio alumna, Islay Erika Bomogao, achieved the #1 ranking in the Women's 45kg Division announced by the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA). Congratulations on this incredible achievement, Islay Erika!"


Bomogao's victory earned her 1,920 points, propelling her to the top of the IFMA rankings.


The Muaythai Association of the Philippines also lauded Bomogao's triumph, recognizing her as an exceptional Filipina world champion who inspires countless athletes across the nation.
