Oasis Announces Reunion Tour After 15-Year Hiatus

British rock band Oasis announced their highly anticipated reunion on Tuesday, confirming a series of live shows in 2025. The news comes 30 years after the release of their debut album, "Definitely Maybe," and a decade since the band's original breakup in 2009 due to tensions between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

"This is it, this is happening," the band declared on X, revealing that tickets would go on sale this Saturday. The reunion tour will kick off in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4th next year. Oasis has confirmed 14 gigs in total, with performances in Cardiff, Manchester (their hometown), London, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

The announcement follows a weekend of intense speculation surrounding a possible reunion, with Spotify reporting a 160% increase in global Oasis streams over a two-hour period on Monday compared to the previous week. The 2025 tour will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Oasis' second album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?," which features iconic tracks like "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Wonderwall."

The release of "Roll with It" from the album in August 1995 sparked a legendary chart battle with Blur, ultimately resulting in Blur securing the number one spot. However, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" went on to sell over 22 million copies worldwide, solidifying its status as one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s.

The Gallagher brothers' tumultuous relationship has been well-documented throughout the band's history, with their frequent feuds contributing to their eventual split. In a 2017 interview, Liam Gallagher acknowledged their ongoing rivalry, stating, "He thinks he's the man and I think I'm the man, do you know what I mean?"
