#WalangPasok: Heavy Rains Prompt Class Suspensions and Traffic Restrictions in Metro Manila

The Philippine government has declared a suspension of classes and work in Metro Manila on Wednesday due to torrential rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has also suspended the number coding scheme to ease traffic congestion during the inclement weather.

Since Tuesday night, the region has been experiencing heavy rainfall, leading to flooding in several areas. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning for potential flash floods and landslides in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique.

While Metro Manila may expect clearer skies on Thursday, other parts of the country, including La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Bicol Region, Visayas, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA, will continue to experience cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
