200 Dengue Cases in Negros Occidental in One Week

Negros Occidental has reported a concerning surge in dengue cases, with 200 cases recorded in the first week of October alone. This significant increase has prompted local health authorities to intensify their efforts to control the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.

The province's health department has urged residents to be vigilant and take preventive measures to avoid contracting dengue. These include clearing their surroundings of potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes, such as stagnant water, and using insect repellents. Additionally, early detection and treatment of dengue cases are crucial in preventing complications.

As the rainy season continues, the risk of dengue transmission is expected to remain high. The local government has called on all sectors to cooperate in the fight against dengue, including community leaders, schools, and healthcare providers.
