Adamson University's standout rookie, Shaina Nitura, expressed her excitement after making her collegiate debut in the 2024 Shakey's Super League Pre-Season Championship.
In her first game as a Lady Falcon, Nitura led the team to a straight-sets victory over San Sebastian College-Recoletos, tallying 17 points and a block.
Despite her impressive performance, Nitura remained humble, acknowledging that there's still room for improvement. "We have more to offer," she said. "We know this isn't our best game yet."
Nitura has a decorated history with Adamson, having led the Baby Lady Falcons to multiple championships. She was named MVP in both the UAAP Season 86 and the Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League.
Recognizing her exceptional talent and leadership skills, Adamson head coach John Philip Yude appointed Nitura as team captain of the Lady Falcons. Yude praised Nitura and fellow newcomer Fei Sagaysay for their immediate impact on the team.
As she enters the pre-season tournament, Nitura emphasized that her focus is on the team's development and preparation for the upcoming UAAP season. "I don't want people to expect too much from me," she explained. "This Shakey's is for me to build myself and to build my team."
