Fuel retailers announced on Monday that they will increase the prices of diesel and kerosene for the third consecutive week. Gasoline prices will remain unchanged.
Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. will raise diesel prices by P1.20 per liter and kerosene prices by P0.70 per liter. The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8.
The Department of Energy (DOE) had predicted a possible price rollback for gasoline and increases for diesel and kerosene this week due to potential disruptions in Iran's oil infrastructure and the Southeast US caused by Hurricane Helene.
Last week, fuel prices increased by P0.45 per liter for gasoline, P0.90 per liter for diesel, and P0.30 per liter for kerosene. As of October 1, 2024, year-to-date adjustments have resulted in a net increase of P6.40 per liter for gasoline and P2.85 per liter for diesel, while kerosene has seen a net decrease of P6.05 per liter.
