Mark Wei, the former business partner of Kapuso actor Ken Chan, has responded to the recent statement released by the actor following a warrant of arrest issued against him for syndicated estafa.
Ken Chan has been noticeably absent from showbiz activities since September. Allegations surfaced that he had left the country after an estafa complaint was filed against him. The actor had remained silent on the matter until recently.
The complaint accuses Chan of misusing investment funds amounting to Php14 million from a specific investor. Despite a promised profit-sharing agreement, the investor claims that the deal never materialized.
Last week, authorities attempted to serve the warrant of arrest at Chan's residence, but he was not present.
In his recent statement, Chan denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the restaurant venture, though materialized, was ultimately unsuccessful. He attributed the failure to sabotage attempts and character defamation by business partners. Chan also explained his prolonged silence, stating that he has been addressing the issue through legal channels.
In response, Mark Wei took to Instagram Stories to refute Chan's claims, accusing the actor of twisting the narrative. Wei's posts provide a contrasting perspective to Chan's account of the events.
"Hindi malulugi, kung sa Negosyo napunta and pera at hindi sa bulsa," Wei wrote.
