Chery Tiggo dominated the court, overpowering the offensive prowess of Savi Davison and PLDT with a decisive 25-12, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22 victory on Tuesday, December 3, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
A formidable trio of Ces Robles, Ara Galang, and Shaya Adorador led the charge for the Crossovers, who secured their second consecutive win and improved their record to 3-1. Robles and Adorador combined for 25 points, with 17 and 11 points, respectively, while Galang contributed 13 points to the victory.
Veteran libero Jen Nierva played a crucial role in the win, recording 17 excellent digs. She revealed her strategy of studying PLDT's game beforehand, which proved to be effective.
"I think I started my day watching PLDT. I have six pages -- kung paano sila lalaro today -- and I think that’s something new I did today that really worked," Nierva shared. "The intention is to read the opponent. Mas madaling gumalaw kung alam mo yung galaw ng kalaban."
Despite Davison's impressive 27-point performance and PLDT's strong net defense, Chery Tiggo capitalized on their opponents' errors, converting 33 points from PLDT's mistakes. Ponggay Gaston also contributed 10 points for the Crossovers, while Alina Bicar delivered 15 excellent sets.
PLDT, which struggled with their service game, suffered their first loss after three consecutive wins. Erika Santos led the High Speed Hitters with 13 points, but their efforts were not enough to overcome Chery Tiggo's dominance.
