Jeffrey Roda Shocks the World, Claims WNT Chinese Taipei Open Title

Filipino pool sensation Jeffrey Roda has sent shockwaves through the billiards world, capturing the World Nineball Tour (WNT) Chinese Taipei Open title with a stunning 13-11 victory over multi-world champion Ko Pin Yi.

Roda, a former World Snooker silver medalist, displayed incredible resilience and skill as he staged a remarkable comeback from a significant deficit. Trailing 8-11, the 24-year-old Filipino powerhouse unleashed an unstoppable surge, winning the next five racks, including a crucial golden break in the final rack.

Roda's journey to the title was marked by a series of impressive upsets. He dominated his Marboys teammate, Johann Chua, 11-3, before defeating former world number one Francis Sanchez Ruiz of Spain 11-2.

The victory not only earned Roda a substantial $20,000 prize but also propelled him 20 spots up the WNT rankings to the No. 44 position. This significant leap highlights his meteoric rise in the world of pool.

Roda and the rest of the Filipino pool contingent are now gearing up for the Zen and Yuan 8 Open in Shanghai, where they aim to continue their impressive form and further solidify their positions in the global pool scene.
