Abu Sayyaf beheaded canadian hostage in Sulu

Abu Sayyaf beheaded one of its foreign captives in Sulu on Monday, report said.

The police gave the confirmation after a severed head, beleived to be that of a foreign kidnap victim, was found at the corner of Mayor Salih Yusah and Sari Ahmed Streets in Barangay Walled City, Jolo,Sulu, on Monday night.

Police said the head that appeared to belong to a "Caucasian-looking" person, was placed in a plastic bag and was found at 7:35 pm Monday.

Investigator confirmed Tuesday that Canadian John Ridsel, one of the four hostages taken by the Abu Sayyaf Group(ASG) last Sept. 21 in Island Garden City of Samal, Davao Del Norte has been beheded by his captors. 

The ASG earlier set an April 8 deadline for the ransom money of PHP 1-billion from each of the three foreign captives, threatening to kill them if the ransom is not paid.

Still at the ASG clutches are Canadian Robert Hall, Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingtad and Filipina Marites Flor, Hall's girlfriend.

President Aquino III has a direct order to acting AFP chief Lt. Gen. Glorioso Miranda and PNP head Director General Ricardo Marquez to conduct appropriate military and law enforcement operations to effect the rescue of the hostages.
