Mayor Rodrigo Duterte intends to prohibit his friends and relatives from entering Malacanang especially if they are seeking personal favors. In the video posted by Davao Vice Mayor Paolo "Polong" Duterte son of Mayor Duterte shows the Mayor in an interview.
" There will be no friends, there will be nothing except the people of the Republic...I do not want to see friends, relatives following up anything at all," said Duterte. "Just like the years that I have been the Mayor, you do not go to me asking for favors at the expense of the people," Duterte added. The video was captioned "Executive Order No. 1"
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte continued to lead the partial and unofficial results. Duterte is hoping to finished the election results in a couple of days so he could start thinking about who to appoint in key government posts.
"I hope the elections will be over in about two to three days. Kung malaman ko na panalo na ako, then I will think about maybe appointing the Cabinet members."
Duterte said putting officials in the department finance, transportation, and foreign affairs would be his priority.
