Panama papers named Philippine politicians and businessmens

Panama Papers includes Philippine officials and Businessman, published by the International Consortium of Investigation Journalists (ICIJ) in their searchable database early Tuesday. It shows several offshore accounts of public figures all over the world including Philippine politicians and businessman.
 
According to the official website, the database which consists of a portion of the 11.5 million documents leaked from the Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca, reveals that some 49 offshore entities all over the world have been linked to 883 officers, 78 intermediaries, and 638 addresses in the Philippines.

Among the names in the shortlisted are Former Senator Edgardo J. Angara, his wife Gloria M. Angara, and their son, Juan Edgardo "Sonny" M. Angara which is linked to Arkwright Assets Limited registered in the British Virgin Islands. Business tycoon Andrew L Tan was linked to Dew Dreams International Ltd of the British Virgin Islands.Irene Marco-Araneta and her husband, Gregorio Ma. Araneta III was linked to Orient Wind Development Limited of the British Virgin Islands while SM Prime Holdings Chairman and SM Investment Corp. Vice Chairman Henry Sy Jr. was linked to Success House International Limited.

"The data covers nearly 40 years up to the end of 2015 and links to people and companies in more than200 countries and territories," the ICIJ noted on its website.

ICIJ noted that they did not published the over all leak, and it is not disclosing raw documents or personal information. The database contains a great deal of information about the company owners, proxies and intermediaries in secrecy jurisdiction, but it does'nt disclose bank accounts, email exchanges and financial transactions contained in the documents.
