An international pastry chef Eliaquim Sabejon Labang seem to be true to his words. Labang once become Facebook sensation when he criticise presidential aspirant Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in November 2015, many supporters of the outspoken mayor vowed not to forget his words.
In his Facebook post, Eliaquim, an international pastry chef and proprietor of Quim's cake, announced that he will give P5 million-worth of cakes for free if Duterte wins the presidential race. Labang accused Duterte of being a liar after the latter decided to run as the President of the Philippines despite his earlier claim that he was not interested in running for President.
"Sabi hindi ka tatakbo. You're a big liar. Hindi ka pa pangulo sinungaling ka na!Suntukan na alang tayo..."Labang wrote on his Facebook account.
The pastry chef even dared supporters of the tough talking Mayor Duterte that if their bet wins, he will give free cakes worth P5 million.
Now that Duterte is confident of winning as the President of the Philippines, Labang is expected by netizens particularly Duterte supporters to keep his promise.
In his Facebook post, Labang confirmed that Quim's Cake will be giving 5 million worth of cakes for a celebration.
"Quim's Cake would like to thank everyone for making us trend on social media. Just to correct a thread made by someone on our behalf, we won't have an event such as "Libreng Cake sa Quim's Cake", on June 30.
But yes, we are sampling 5 million worth of cakes to celebrate the election of our new leaders and extend our gratitude to everyone for the clamor to try our cakes for free (as promised) in scheduled batches.
