Maybe we already heared Iah Seraspi story, the poor fisherman's daughter from Romblon who topped the 2015 Board Exam for Teachers secondary level. Now, for 2016 topnotcher of the Licensure Exam for Teachers(LET) has an amazing story to tell.
Michael Prince del Rosario, the topnotcher of the latest LET in the secondary level, wasn't exactly a model student back in highschool. He considered himself as an online gamer addict which forced him to drop out of highschool.
In an interview with DZMM, "Hindi na po talaga ako pumapasok, sobrang lala po ng ka-addictkan to the point na wala na po. Nag-drop-out ako tapos ang masama pa niyan hindi ko kayang sabihin kina Mama, tinago ko po muna," said del Rosario
(I really don't go to classes because of my severe addiction to the online game. I dropped out of school and worse, I hide this to my mom.)
Realization comes before my senior years, seeing my batchmates getting ready for graduation and planning for college. "Unti-unti ko na pong nakikita na pa-graduate na po 'yung mga ka-batch ko, na ang ganda-ganda na ng mga plano nilang mag-college, na ang sarap ng mga dreams nila for their family. Sa isip ko, pa'no ako? Pa'no ko ibibigay 'yun sa family ko?" Rosario said.
(I slowly realized that my batchmates have already graduated and they have good plans for college and dreams for their family. I thought of myself. How could I give that to my family?"
Through the Department of Education's (DepEd) Alternative Learning System Program, Del Rosario was given a chance to get a high school diploma. This involved reviewing a madule in order to pass an exam to get a diploma that would make him eligible to enter college.

Del Rosario garnered a score of 92% in the recent LET Secondary level, aside from that, Del Rosario place the eight spot in the 2010 Nursing Licensure Examination.
