French Open: Djokovic hits $100-M jackpot seeking career Grand Slam

Paris France - The 29-year old Novak Djokovic became the first player to reach the $100 million prize money mark when he reached the French Open quarter-finals for the 10th time.

Novak started the tournament with $99,673,404 in the bank and the 294,000 euros ($328,303) he earned by beating Apain's Roberto Bautista Agut 3-6,6-4,6-1,7-5 took him past the landmark figure.

Djokovic is seeking a career grand slam in a French Open title, will take on either Czech seventh seed Tomas Berdych or Spanish 11th seed David Ferrer for a place in the semi-finals.

For the fifth consecutive year, Novak entered the French Open hoping to complete the career Grand Slam.

Last year Djokovic wrote the first six chapters of his Roland garros run nearly perfectly, including a first-ever win over Rafael Nadal at this tournament in the quarterfinals. This year, there is no Nadal nor Roger Federer, who missed his first major since 1999 with a bad back.
