Lacson to donate unspent campaign funds for Duterte's war against Drugs

Sen. Panfilo Lacson is ready to support President-elect Rodrigo Duterte's war against illegal drugs, as he will going to donate his unspent campaign funds toward the bounty law enforcers who can capture or kill drug suspects.

"I myself am willing to contribute from whatever unspent campaign contributions I still have to his pool of funds if only to underscore the importance of a concerted all-out war against drugs," Lacson said.

Sen. Vicente Sotto likewise voiced his support for Duterte's campaign against illegal drugs.

"Whatever it take down the scourge of illegal drugs,"Sotto said in a text message."

Recently Duterte spelled out his strategy on how to stop the illegal drugs in six months. He said he would put up the remainder of his  campaign funds as a bounty for police and military officials who can kill or take them alive.

He offered up the following rates: P3million for a drug lord; P2 million for a distributor,P1 million for a second achelon syndicate member, and P50,000 for an ordinary pusher.

Targets will include anti-narcotics agents involved in the illegal drugs and imprisoned drug lords who continue to run their operations from behind bars, Duterte said.

Suspects who put up resistance during their arrest would be killed, while those raise their hands in surrender would be spared, he added.
