U.S. accuses Chinese Jet made unsafe intercept of US Reconnaissance Plane

The US officials has accused a Chinese jet of unsafe intercept to US Airforce plane. The United States Air Force RC-135 reconnaissance plane was sent to the international airspace over East China Sea was intercepted in an "unsafe manner" by a Chinese J-10 fighter jet.

The United States Pacific Command said in a statement that one of the two Chinese jets involved in an intercept operation on Tuesday flew too fast and too close to US aircraft.

US officials said that the RC-135 was on routine mission. The incident happened during U.S - China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, where Secretary of State John Kerry and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew are in Beijing. Lew is pressing China to lower barriers to foreign business and cut excess steel production, with limited success. 

Also, the intercept occurred just days after Defense Secretary Ash Carter and top military officials returned from a regional security meeting in Singapore.

Recently two Chinese J-11 tactical aircraft had carried out an "unsafe" intercept of a U.S. EP-3 reconnaissance aircraft that was conducting a routine mission in international airspace over the South China Sea.
