World class Ceres South Terminal and Seaport will soon to rise in Bacolod City

Another two World-class Terminal is set to rise in Metro Bacolod. Bacolod City Ceres Southbound Terminal and Atty. Simplicio Palanca Seaport Terminal.

After the successful Grand opening of World-class Ceres Northbound Terminal in Bacolod City last month. BACOLOD City – Yanson family, the owner and operator of Ceres bus line, is offering to donate a lot to house the proposed new Bacolod Southbound Transport Terminal.

Jade Seballos, legal and media relations manager of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies (YGBC), said the Yansons are offering its 50 hectares lot located at the boundary of Barangays Tangub and Alijis as site of the proposed terminal.

Seballos said the lot is under the Yanson Realty Corporation.

The terminal proposed by Councilor Alex Paglumotan aims to put up a well-regulated, convenient, safe, and secured standardized public transport terminal.

It will regulate the entry of provincial buses and other public transport in the city.

This, said Paglumotan, will reduce noise and air pollution and will support the development of the city.

The terminal is eyed to be constructed in five possible sites – Barangays Sum-ag, Tangub, Pahanocoy, Alijis, and Punta Taytay.

A technical working group will study the best location of the terminal.

The Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. will start the construction of the “Atty. Simplicio Palanca Seaport Terminal” at the Reclamation Area in Bacolod City today that is expected to be completed within one year and a half, architect Joemarie Yao said yesterday.

Yao said they want to come up with a state-of-the art world class seaport terminal for fastcrafts and roll-on/roll-off vessels. They will also build a two-storey building with a floor area of 4,090 square meters.

The facility will have free wi-fi and will be PWD ready. It will have an x-ray machine at the entrance and also feature a VIP room, prayer room, kids playroom, nursing room and other facilities, and will also be fully air-conditioned, he said.

Tao said the terminal will have a common departure area and have several ticketing counters. Its apron will be 60 meters wide to accommodate about eight to 10 vehicles.

It can accommodate about 1,200 passengers on the ground floor while the second floor will be for the administrative office and office of the Philippine Coast Guard, he said.

They will also have office spaces for rent for fast crafts and roll-on roll-off vessels on the second floor, Yao added.

T he ground-breaking for the project was held during the 93 rd birthday of BREDCO president Simplicio Palanca last March 12.

Palanca has provided the gateway to the city and the province through the reclamation project that he started in 1961.

The modern seaport terminal is just one of the projects that Palanca has envisioned to change, not only the lifestyle of the Bacolodnons and Negrenses, but the economic picture of Bacolod and the province.*CGS

Meanwhile, the YGBC held the firm’s first Family Day last Saturday at Ceres office in Brgy. Mansilingan and North and South stations.
