Subway System in Manila is a priority project of Duterte's Administration

Manila, Philippines - One of the best solution for Metro traffic is by constructing a subway system.
According to the National Economic and Development Authority, the construction of a subway system that would link the business centers of Makati, Pasay, and Taguig is high on the infrastructure priority list of President Rodrigo Duterte's administration.

Rolando Tungpalan, NEDA deputy director general for investment programming, was quoted as saying, "The subway project is a priority, yes, but the alignment still has to be discussed by the infrastructure committee."

He also added that the committee is set to convene next month.

The Philippine Star noted: "The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is conducting pre-feasibility study on the PHP 375-billion proposed subway project."

One of the proposed routes for the 20-kilometer train system is Market!Market!, St. Lukes Medical Center, Metro Rail Transit Line 3's Buendia Station, Ayala Triangle, Makati Post Office, Philippine National Railway's Buendia station, Buendia/Taft Avenue, World Trade Center, Mall of Asia and ADSA/TAFT Avenue.
