MANILA, Philippines – The two leading candidates for the presidency of the United States are set to face off on Monday, September 26 (Tuesday, September 27), during the 2016 election season's first presidential debate.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the standard bearer of the Democratic Party, will face reality television star and businessman Donald Trump, representing the Republican Party. This will be the first time the two candidates will share the same stage, and it is expected to be one of the most scrutinized live event so far in the race for the White House.


Moderated by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, the first presidential debate of the season will last 90 minutes, commercial-free, starting 9 pm US Eastern Standard Time (9 am Philippine time).
