US Bombers fly near North Korea

US bombers flew east of North Korean on Saturday in a so called show of force, said Pentagon. B-1B Lancer bombers assigned to the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron of 28th Bomb Wing, Eighth Air Force of United States Air Force Global Strike Command conducted a flight mission in the international airspace near the North Korea on September 23.

Series of earthquakes felt in North Korea have sparked fears the country may have conducted another nuclear weapon test, later confirmed by experts that tremors were natural.

US Department of Defense Chief Spokeswoman Dana W. White said,"this mission is a demonstration of U.S. resolve and clear message that the President has many military options to defeat any threat."

"This is the farthest north of the Demilotarized Zone (DMZ) any U.S. fighter or bomber aircraft have flown off North Korea's coast in the 21st century, underscoring the seriousness with which we take the DPRK's reckless behavior," she said.

The intense scrutiny of any earthquakes in North Korea highlights rising tensions in the region as Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un engage in a war of words.
