Another priest shot dead in Nueva Ecija, fourth catholic priest to have been shot in the past six months

Catholic priest was shot dead in Nueva Ecija while celebrating Mass at Barangay Mayamot, Zaragoza town in Nueva Ecija province. According to the report, Fr. Richmond Nilo of the Diocese of Cabanatuan is behind the altar at around 6:05P.M., was shot by two unidentified men through a window four times.


He would be the fourth Catholic priest to have been shot in the past six months in the Philippines.

 On June 6, Father Rey Urmeneta, a priest at St. Michael the Archangel parish in Calamba City, survived an attack by two gunmen.

In April, Father Mark Ventura from Gattaran town in the northern Philippines died after being shot by a lone gunman shortly after celebrating Sunday Mass.

On Dec. 4, 2017, Father Marcelito Paez was also shot and killed in the town of Jaen, Nueva Ecija province.
