Senator Villanueva aims to amend CPD Law and extend PRC license validity to 5 years

Senator Joel Villanueva aims to amend CPD law and extend PRC license validity to five years. This was the shared statement from his Facebook account "Sa dami po ng reklamong ating natanggap mula sa mga guro tungkol sa implementasyon ng Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Law, layunin po nating amyendahan and RA 10912. Nais po nating mapababa and required credit o CPD points at mapahaba and validity ng Professional Identification Card (PIC) mula 3 hanggang 5 taon."

Under the Proclamation No. 242 signed by former President Noynoy Aquino, starting 5th September to 5th October is the celebration of National Teachers Month. Villanueva in his Facebook account recognize the hardships and challenges that the teachers are facing today. 

"Bukod sa mababang sahod, kakulangan sa mga teaching materials at klasrum, gayundin ang malaking bilang ng mga mag-aaral, nariyan din po ang dagdag na gastos nga­yon sa pagpapa-renew ng lisensya sa PRC."

Villanueva admitted that he is receiving many complaints on the CPD Law and said that they are working on amending the law.
