Watch: Philippines microsatellite DIWATA-2 was launched today

Finally, the Philippines second microsatellite DIWATA-2 was launched straight to space today October 29, 2018 at Tanegashima Space Center in Japan.




The DIWAT-2's development was made possible through the collaboration of the DOST-Advanced Science & technology Institute and the University of the Philippines Diliman as well as Hokkaido University and Tohoku University in japan.



Diwata-2 in the Philippines second non-commercial microsatellite. It was built under the Development of the Philippine Scientific Earth Observation Microsatellite (PHL-Microsat) Program, which is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and monitored by DOST-Philippine  Council for Industry and Emerging Technology research and Development (PCIEERD).
