Mayor Evelio Leonardia of Bacolod is one of the finalist at Asia Leaders Awards. The Asian Leadership Awards (ALA) recognizes the remarkable continuing excellence of individual in developing best practices and innovative strategies. ALA distinguishes and honors leaders who have contributed and shaped the Asian economy, it will showcase best practices learning and leanings from best practices.
"This is not personal at all. Any recognition we get such as those coming from National Competitiveness Council (NCC) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) are all due to the people of Bacolod because they are the reason why all these positive developments are happening," Leonardia said.
The awards night will be held at the Makati Shari-La Hotel in Manila on November 15. There are 30 finalists in the Lifetime Excellence including Leonardia for the city governance. Other finalists are Dr. Andrew Tan of Megaworld for real estate, Gina Lopez of ABS-CBN for environment, and former Senator Rene Saguisag for human rights.
Winners of the Awards exemplify the best in leadership. They epitomize the core values of a successful leader-strength, innovation, ingenuity, knowledge and foresight - values that are imperative to carving out powerful business in the global economy.
