Traveller gets fined RM4,000 for bringing two pieces of fried chicken into Taiwan airport

A Malaysian passenger who was going to Taiwan was fined RM4,060 after failing to declare fried chicken in their luggage. According to Sinchew, the passenger took flight with JC international Airlines and landed at Taoyuan Airport at around 3 pm. Unfortunately, the passenger lined up in lane number 6, which is designated for those who have nothing to be declared.




The time the luggage passed the inspection screening, authorities found the two pieces of fried chicken weighing 160 grams. They were wrapped in pieces of paper towel when discovered, the world of buzz reported.

Authority from the department said fried chicken is classified as a meat product and therefore is strictly forbidden to be brought into Taiwan. Other than that, fresh fruits and vegetables are also on the watch list as well.

This policy was strictly enforced to prevent pests or disease from being introduced to Taiwan. Travelers are advised not to bring those prohibited products to avoid questions and fines on your travel. 

Following to the incident, travelers are advised to leave their unfinished in-flight meals on board and refrain from bringing them into the country.
