It is also the first time the world to see in Photos behind the mysterious dark side of the moon.
NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted that the successful touch down was described as an impressive accomplishment.

Chang'e 4 is named after the Chinese Goddess of the Moon has made to land in the unexplored South Pole-Aitken basin, the biggest known impact structure in the solar system, at about 2:30am GNT on Thursday.

Chang'e lander and rover mission will aim to study the local lunar geology, probe the moon's interior, and analyse the solar wind - a stream of high-energy particles that flow from the sun. It will also carry an on board experiments to test how well plant grow in the weak lunar gravity.
Aside from Chinese indigenous equipment, the Chang'e 4 also has four scientific payloads developed by scientists from other countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Sweden.
