"10 years ago ang pinagdadasal ko lang naman ay ang gumaling, wala akong idea na gagawin mo pala akong instrumento para ako naman ang makapagpagaling ng iba. Sobrang amazing mo Lord! Thank you! I am now licensed to heal," he wrote.

Doctor Gacias never realized that the 10-year-challenge would become his call as an instrument to heal others. At the age of 19, Gacias was diagnosed with malignant Germ cell tumor, a kind of lung cancer on July 2008, he told Inquirer.

Life is wasn't easy for Gacia's as he was worried that he might stop his nursing a preparatory for his dream to become a doctor. He underwent surgical operation (lobectomy of the lungs) and series of chemotherapy radiotherapy.

“Pero (But) God is good kasi nakasurvive naman po (because I survived it),” he said. “Without the help/support of my family and friends hindi ko din naman masu-survive lahat (I wouldn’t survive all of it),” Dr. Gacias quoted as saying to Inquirer.

He dedicated his success to his mother and brother. His mother was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 while his brother died of accident.

“Para sa inyo to (This is for you)  Mommy and honeyboy Al Jules Sean Gacias in heaven. #10YearChallenge #CancerSurvivor,” he wrote in his post.

Doctor Gacias post had inspired more than 46K emotions and over 12K shares.
