Manila, Philippines - Moviegoers soon could book there seats and skip long lines as customers of ride-hailing service Grab has partnered with SM cinemas, to soon use the app's mobile wallet GrabPay to pay for movie tickets.
The idea aims to give comfort to the most fastest way of buying cinema tickets through scanning the QR codes available in cinema ticketing booths.
These is "a way for mallgoers to enjoy a convenient and rewarding way to pay," SMIC assistant vice president Wence Wenceslao said.
This April, GrabPay will rollout in select SM Cinemas in Metro Manila and Cebu, and will be available nationwide by the end of 2019.
GrabPay will soon be use to pay in supermarkets, restaurants, and shops in SM malls after loading a mobile wallet.
Currently, GrabPay is used to pay for only transport and delivery services.
