DOST Launches Hightech Yellow Bus 'nuLAb' In Search For Future Scientists

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) has launched this yellow bus, dubbed as "nuLab" as it looks for the future innovators and scientists. Equipped with modern technology gadgets such as laboratory facilities, modern audio-visual and educational tools and equipment, students can get a glimpse inside this mobile facility.


The nuLab will visit select senior high schools in the Philippines, to introduce new concepts and innovations. The yellow bus could hold two sessions per day and accommodate 24 students per session.

The advanced STEM modules features topics such as nanotechnology, aerospace engineering, nuclear science, earthquake risk analysis, science media literacy, programming, robotics, and environmental science and more.

This will help discover the potentials of younger generations in various STEM fields and to encourage them to apply to the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship program.

It as launched last July 17 during the National Science and Technology Week at the World Trade Center, where students from participating schools have been able to experience for the first time the science bus.

NuLab will soon schedule for its first-ever road trip to visit the province of Ilocos Norte on September 17-19 and will cross the sea going to Iloilo on October 21-24. While students from Bontoc, Mt. Province is on November 18 to 22 before the year end.
