Jane de Leon is ABS-CBN's New Darna

Jane De Leon is the official darling to play the role of the iconic pinay girl power superhero 'Darna'. It was officially announced earlier today by ABS-CBN, who said that the choice for Jane was a unanimous decision between deliberating panel.

"'Yung Darna story natin ngayon "Our Darna story now" is a genesis story, a coming of age "story". Ang requirement talaga (The requirement really) is somebody na (who is) young and with an air of innocence, but at the same time strength of character,” Olivia said.

If you aren't quite familiar with the actress, it's probably due to her being a relatively fresh face. The 20-yer-old Jane is exclusive talent of Star Magic since 2015 and appeared in a number of TV projects, including "Halik" where she played Jericho Rosales's sister Maggie Bartolome. She also appeared in 2017 fantasy drama series "La Luna Sangre" as one of the moonchasers and was also part of the girl group Girltrends of It's Showtime.
