San Miguel Corp. is set to start Building New International Airport in Bulacan this year, as the lone bidder for this project.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is set to award the Php 735-B construction project to SMC within eight days prior to some pending documentary requirements San Miguel Corp. must to comply.
In April, the DOTr opened the Swiss challenge or the process in which the original proponent will have to match or top the challengers to its proposal, however no competitor submitted a bid.
The new airport in Bulacan will serve as the alternative gateway to the congested Ninoy Aquino International Airport and it will be named as the New Manila International Airport.
If all goes well, SMC to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2019.
