The oldest living person alive in Negros Occidental celebrates 122nd birthday


Now, the 122-yeer-old- great-grandmother from Oringao, Kabankalan city, Negros Occidental could be the world's oldest living person, once birth records are verified by the Gerontology research Group or Guinness World Records. A global organization of researchers who keep track of the world's super centenarians.

Francisca Susano celebrated her 122nd birthday on September 11. If she indeed was born in 1897, she would be older than the Philippines' independence, which was signed on June 12, 1898.

According to the report, Susano commended her good health-her memory still sharp-to being a vegetarian. Susano has been receiving P100,000 cash from the provincial government, part of the Centenarians Act of 2016 that allow centenarians to received cash incentives.
