President Rodrigo Duterte visit the wake of Miguel Barretto recently, and tried to patch things up between the Barretto siblings. Gretchen Barretto was also present to visit the wake of her father Miguel and to took the opportunity to reconcile with her mother Inday.

According to the ABS-CBN report the incident happened during the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte. Claudine, the youngest of the siblings shared the family reunion on Instagram, where she expressed her admiration for her sister Gretchen.
However, Gretchen remains in conflict with Marjorie who had a dispute over a controversy involving her niece Julia Barretto.
According to a report from ABS-CBN sources who were present at the wake, the President urged Gretchen and Marjorie to shake hands, just for tonight, in respect for their deceased father. However, Gretchen tried to oblige the request, saying that she was "the older one after all." It became a heated exchange when Marjorie refused and instead accused Gretchen of being "plastic, porke nandito and President," ABS-CBN report.
"Marjorie was obviously mainit, you can see it in her body language," the source added as quoted in ABS-CBN News.
A woman later identified as one of the Barretto grandchildren allegedly lunged at Gretchen who was one corner talking to some friends. The friends stop Gretchen and prevented her from retaliation.
Just when they thought the worst was over, the source said, Gretchen suddenly grabbed her niece by the hair and a scuffle ensued. Members of the Presidential Security Group had to break up the fight.
Eyewitness said the niece suffered a cut on her face. Meanwhile, Gretchen reportedly apologized to the President for what append at her fathers wake.
