This couple have meticulously prepared their dream wedding for the next two years after Patrick proposed to his women in Paris in 2017. However, all of a sudden everything gone wrong when the Taal volcano was unstoppable in spewing ashfall on the eve of their wedding on January 12.

Patrick Feliciano and Maricar Gertes had to accept the reality that they couldn't get as far, since all the "suppliers have cancelled and told their guests not to come at the last minute due to the rapid escalation of volcanic events" that brought their place to alert level 4.

"Got trapped in our preps hotel and had no sleep for fear of the earthquakes, ashfall, and general destruction happening around us," Patrick Feliciano said in his Facebook post.

However, despite facing the enormous emotional and physical challenges, the couple decided to push through with a simple and intimate ceremony.

"Kahit di natin nakamit ang dream wedding natin, for me this is the Best Wedding.. I love you asawa ko, Maricar Gertes!" Patrick's caption read with a #TheDisasterWedding.

The two got married in San Antonio de Padua Church with only select family members and a priest in a very simple ceremony.

"I considered it as the best wedding because I feel relieved, we all survived and we received God's blessing. And though we do not have guests, mine and her family are there and that is more than enough," Patrick said in an interview with ABSCBN news.

However, Patrick revealed that they look forward on having the ceremony they originally  planned in the future.
