A 17-day-old infant has reportedly recovered from coronavirus after contracted the disease from her mother, who have been confirmed to have acquired the virus. She was the youngest patient ever recorded and have recovered from the virus in China so far, local media reported.
Her mother, who was pregnant at that time, came to Wuhan hospital after having experienced symptoms. Xiao Xiao, who was delivered at Wuhan Children's Hospital was struggling with a respiratory infection and minor damage to her heart. Since the infant did not show flu-like symptoms, the doctors decided not give her antibiotic medication and let herself recovered on her own.
'She did not have obvious difficulties in breathing, did not cough or have fevers, therefore we only gave her treatment for her myocardial condition,' Dr Zeng told CCTV.
Luckily, Zeng said Xiao Xiao is fully recovered from coronavirus and she was discharge to go home, according to The People's Daily.
Xiao Xiao had tested negative and has grown "bigger and fatter," Dr Zeng added.
The global death toll for coronavirus are nearly 3,000, feared that it would spread across the globe.
