A London-based laboratory at Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre is looking for 24 brave individuals to be injected with Coronavirus and participate in its flu camp.
Any volunteers joining the program will get paid about $4,500 (Php230,000) for their heroic participation.
Particiapants will be injected with two weaker strands of the virus, which can cause mild respiratory symptoms and then a new or existing vaccine will be applied. These strains are far less serious than the deadly COVID-19 strain currently spreading across the world.
Before doing something, these 24 brave human will receive a series of tests prior to joining the flu camp.
While being sick, volunteers will be kept in isolation in their facilities for two weeks with restricted diet and no exercise.
"Drugs companies can get a very good idea within a few months of starting a vaccine study whether it’s working or not, using such a small sample of people,” said Andrew Catchpole, Hvivo’s chief scientist.
The testing will begin once Hvivo gets green light from UK's Medicines and healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
