Grab suspends ride-sharing service starting Friday, March 13 amid coronavirus outbreak

Grab Philippines on Thursday, it would suspend its GrabShare service to help combat coronavirus (COVID-19) spread. 


In an advisory, Grab said Metro Manila and Cebu will be suspended starting 12:00 noon on Friday, March 13 until "the public health situation de-escalates." 

"To aid in the social distancing prescribed by the Philippine health officials with regards to the public health situation on COVID-19, Grab will be suspending its GrabShare services in Metro Manila and Cebu starting March 13, 12NN," Grab said.



However, Grab other transport services will remain to be available to serve the public.

As of this writing, the Philippines has 49 confirmed COVID-19 cases, which the World Health Organization announced as pandemic.
