Philippines confirms total 20 COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Monday, March 9, 2020, 10 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Philippines, bringing the total to 20.


All test result from the new cases were released today from the samples which have been collected from March 6, 7, and 8.



Authorities are now conducting contact tracing.

“Rest assured that the Department of Health (DOH) is maximizing all channels... to immediately identify and isolate, if needed, those who had contact with confirmed cases,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said in a statement.

The DOH also urged individuals who will be contacted by its surveillance teams to fully cooperate.
