Returning seaman in Imus Cavite positive for COVID-19

Cavite city confirmed on Tuesday that a returning seaman from Imus was tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). 


In a Facebook post of Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla said, that a seaman who passed through Narita Airport in Japan on his route to the Philippines was Cavite's first COVID-19 case.

He governor added that the man is currently confined at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).



The second case of a PUI (person under investigation) is a woman confined in a private hospital in Imus. She had just arrived from South Korea. Her swab was submitted to the RITM as of 6pm last night. Status will be released hopefully later this afternoon.

The governor has urged the people leading their respective cities to be transparent with the truth. Cloaking information is a greater disservice to the people. The people have the right to be informed.
