Due to the rising cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force of Emerging Infectious Disease to extend the suspension of classes in Metro Manila until April 12.
"The suspension of classes in all levels in Metro Manila is hereby extended until April 12, 2020," the IATF resolution said as read by the president on Thursday.
However, the resolution have said that all students shall continue to fulfill their educational requirements during the period of the suspension of classes.
"Provided further that concerned LGUs with supervision of DILG shall be responsible for implementing measures to ensure that students remain in their homes during said duration," it added.
