A 23-day-old baby boy from Lipa City, Batangas, who died Sunday, April 5, has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa announced on Thursday, April 9, in his Facebook page that the baby from Barangay Lodlod tested positive for COVID-19 based on the results from the Department of Health (DOH) 4 days after the baby's death.
This is the youngest reported local fatality from the deadly disease that has already claimed over 200 lives in the country. The health department has yet to validate the report.
As of Wednesday, Lipa listed 14 COVID-19 cases and four deaths. Meanwhile, more than 4,000 are infected nationwide while some 124 also recovered.
