Facebook has just launched an exclusive App dedicated for gaming only, now live on Android.
The app would allow users to follow high-profile gamers, watch live gaming streams and leave comments without interacting on the players.
The New York Times announced the upcoming release in an exclusive over the weekend, citing that it arrives earlier than as expected amid the coronavirus pandemic. Facebook originally intended to release the app in June!
“Investing in gaming in general has become a priority for us because we see gaming as a form of entertainment that really connects people,” said Fidji Simo, head of the Facebook app.

The pandemic had pushed them to speed up the released of the gaming projects as they were "seeing a big rise in gaming during quarantine," he added.
The company have already tested the Facebook gaming app in Southeast Asia and Latin America over the last 18 months and plans to release it on the Google Play store for Android devices. However, for iOS version will be coming very soon once Apple approves.
