Negros Occidental Nurse Reimagine Life Of Frontline Workers Through A Syringe Art Amid COVID-19 Pandemic



A Negros Occidental-based nurse Kimberly Joy Mallo Magbanua who was known for her unique style of art using syringes went viral. Kimberly, who works as a registered nurse in Valladolid District Hospital once again shared her message through her work of art for all the Filipinos amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent post on her Facebook account, Magbanua painted a health worker who was sacrificing their life in the war against COVID-19 for the welfare of the people and the country.

She also captioned her artwork through a heartwarming message for 'Juan'.

Mahal na Juan,

Ang puso ko ay nagsususumamo.
Ang inyong tungkulin ay gawin ninyo.
Yung iba sa inyong mga kapatid
ay nagdudurusa na sa sakit.

Walang humahawak ng kanyang kamay,
kaunting pag asa lang sa puso ang taglay.
Yakap yakap ko syang humihikbi,
ramdam ko ang pagdadalamhati.

Using syringe as a paintbrush, Magbanua is entirely a self taught artist for her unique artwork with a lot of technical work is required to create an art piece.

Recently, the Department of Health said more than 1,000 healthcare workers in the country were positive for the coronavirus disease, most of whom are doctors.

Out of 1,062 infected health workers, 422 are doctors, 386 nurses, 30 medical technologists, 21 radiological tech, 51 nursing assistants and 152 other medical personnels.
