Netizens lauded vegetable vendor who refuses to receive government cash aid amid COVID-19 lockdown



A hardworking mom refused to receive help from the government Social Amelioration Program (SAP). SAP is the Philippine national government cash aid for the poorest of the poor who were directly affected by the month long lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Dassun Solana Cagayan Facebook page, Elizabeth Buguina, who was a vegetable vendor decided to waive her cash aid from the Social Amelioration Program. After learning that she's qualified of receiving around P5K, Buguina personally showed up to the barangay officials to personally sign a waiver.

"Kanina lamang ay nagtungo siya sa isa sa opisyal ng barangay kay kagawad Hon. Dominador M. Cagurungan at sa ating mahal na Kapitana, Hon. Conchita L. Mabborang para iparating ang nais niyang tulong sa kabarangay. Gusto niyang ipamahagi ang matatanggap niya sanang ayuda galing sa SAP sa mas higit na nangangailangan," the Facebook post read.



Officials were also convincing to accept the government aid for her, since she was affected of the lockdown. However, Buguina was decided to donate the money.



In her signed letter for her decision to donate the aid, Buguina said she hope that the money must be given to the right family in great need because these blessings is came from God.

"Pinipilit namin na tanggapin ang tulong subalit 'yan ang sinasabi niya. Ang sabi niya pa ay galing ito kay Ama sa taas kaya ibigay niyo sa mas nangangailangan," the post added.

Elizabeth Buguina's decision to donate her cash aid has earned praised online and netizens has a lot of words to say.
