Pastor who refused to close church doors amid stay at home order dies from coronavirus

A conservative evangelical pastor from Virginia has died recently after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Bishop Gerald Gerald  O. Glenn, founder of New Deliverance Evangelistic Church, passed away last April 11, 2020.

A month ago the pastor was reportedly refused to close his church amid the government mandatory to stay at home order. He assured his people that "God is larger than this dreaded virus," and announced he was not afraid to die.

A day after his last public sermon on March 22, the Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam issued an executive order banning all public and private gatherings of 10 people or more.

Reports says, Glenn, however, did not comply.

On April 4, according to the report, his daughter posted a video announcing that both the pastor and his wife has contracted the coronavirus.

"While they are mourning the heartbreaking earthly absence of their family patriarch & spiritual father, they also have family members who are struggling to survive this dreaded pandemic," the church's Facebook post read.
