103-year-old woman celebrates life with a bottle of cold beer after beating COVID-19

After two weeks in isolation due to COVID-19, Jennie Stejna asked her caretaker for a bottle of 'Bud Light' after recovering from the disease. Staff at the nursing home have grant the 103-year-old centenarian's request and took a photo while enjoying her drink.



In an interview with local news Wicked Local, Gunn described her grandmother as someone who "always had that feisty fighting spirit."

Stejna was the first person in the nursing home who have tested positive for coronavirus, she became very ill, but there was a staff member by her side, Gunn told Wicked Local.


She has two children, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, Gunn said.

The family said their final goodbyes to the great-great-grandmother and when asked if she was ready to go to heaven, Stejna replied, “Hell yes.”

But luckily, Stejna beat the deadly virus and Gunn received the news that her grandmother had recovered.

She then celebrate her life with a bottle of cold beer, something she loved but hadn't had in a very long time, Gunn said.

“This feisty old Polish grandmother of ours officially beat the coronavirus,” Gunn’s husband, Adam, told Wicked Local.

“We’re truly very thankful,” Gunn said.
